Ananya Inspires at Kuala Lumpur City Day Half Marathon 2024

The Kuala Lumpur City Day Half Marathon is back for its eighth year, and this year, it welcomed a special participant: our very own year 5 Cambridge student, Ananya S Godavarty, and her parents. They weren't just there to cheer her on; they laced up their running shoes and joined Ananya in the 5km Fun Run, adding to the energetic spirit of the event.

Energized by the electric hum of anticipation on March 10th, Ananya witnessed young and old runners, stretched across the vast field of Jalan Raja, each with their own goals. But for Ananya, the iconic Sultan Abdul Samad Building loomed not just as a majestic backdrop, but as a silent witness waiting to see her conquer the course and celebrate Kuala Lumpur City Day!

And in line with the theme, "BIGGER Experiential Run," Ananya's participation, along with her family's, embodies this spirit perfectly, highlighting the importance of fostering a love for running and fitness together.

Ananya's accomplishment doesn't stop at completing the race; she even brought home the finisher medal! This achievement is a testament to Ananya's dedication and her family's unwavering support. By prioritizing their physical well-being together, Ananya's family exemplifies the spirit of Sports Excellence (Gem 2) within the GIIS KL 9GEMS Holistic Framework. This commitment also aligns perfectly with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being. Ananya's journey, along with her family's participation, becomes an inspiration, urging all of us at GIIS KL to embrace active lifestyles!
